Avenue Road Watermain Replacement - Bloor to Lowther
The City will be replacing the watermain on Avenue Road, from Bloor Street West to Lowther Avenue, starting this week. Along with this work, the City will be replacing the City-owned portion of substandard water services on Avenue Road in the same area.
The water service is the underground pipe that brings water to your water meter and is owned by you and the City. The part you own is from your house to the end of the property, the part the City owns is from the property line to the water main. This project is part of the Council-approved 2015 Capital Works Program that will improve water distribution and the City's aging infrastructure while reducing the risk of watermain breaks.
City staff have distributed notices to the neighbouring residents and businesses to inform them of the upcoming work. As the type of work will affect specific residents at different times, the contractor performing the work will also be notifying residents on an ongoing basis if work will affect their water service.
