City Survey on Landlord Licensing

Implementing landlord licensing is a critical tool in ensuring residents are able to access safe and quality housing.  To that end, the City is currently consulting on the proposal to develop a landlord licensing system in Toronto.  The move was approved in principle earlier this year by City Council, and City staff are now consulting with the public on a framework.

As part of the consultation, a survey is currently available until October, 4 for residents to share their perspective on how this program could work. The license would apply to rental buildings that have three or more storeys and ten or more units., including TCHC properties.

The results of the survey will be summarized and considered as part of the City's report to Licensing and Standards Committee later this Fall.
