Downtown relief line

I'm excited to let you know that our City Planning Division and TTC are planning the Relief Line - a new subway line that would connect downtown to the Bloor-Danforth Subway east of the Don River. This new subway line would address crowding and congestion on the Yonge Subway, at Yonge-Bloor Station, and on the surface transit network to the east of downtown.

The area where the new subway line may be constructed is shown in the attached figure.

Have your say!

There are many ways for you to learn more about this exciting project and have your say. On the project website, reliefline.ca, you can register your email address to get regular updates and find out information like how the exact route will be determined and expected timing of the project. In the coming days, you'll also be able to use the website to provide comments on the potential station areas and the way that the possible routes will be compared.

There are four public meetings coming up. In addition to learning about the project and providing input, you'll be able to discuss the study with the project team.
