Queen West Community Health Centre - Harm Reduction Open Houses
Every Wednesday in April, 5:30-7:30pm, Queen West Community Health Centre invites members of the community to join them for a Harm Reduction Open House. Drop in to ask questions, learn more about the Centre and the work they do, and about their plans for supervised injection services at the site.
Working together with our community is a critical part of the process to improving public health - Toronto's Medical Officer of Health is recommending the introduction of supervised injection services to save lives and improve community safety. But, the first step is working together to share information and answer questions.
One of the proposed sites that is seeking to introduce small-scale supervised injections services is located at Bathurst and Richmond, on the border of Wards 19 and 20. Queen West Community Health Centre has been a member of community for 45 years, and has been located at its current site at Bathurst and Richmond for over 20. It is home to many doctors' offices, counselling services, community programs and harm reduction services.
Please let me know if you have any questions at any time - to learn more about Queen West, visit their website and drop in to an Open House in April.
