Re-discover a local gem - Layers of Rush Lane

Summer is just around the corner, the streets are alive and 100in1Day is coming up this very weekend!

100in1Day is a day full of urban interventions by folks from communities all across our City. The idea is not simply to envision ways to make the city better but to make it a reality through pop up activations in neighbourhoods throughout the whole city. Queen West is a special neighbourhood in Toronto, and a special part of our Ward 20 community; a creative hotspot that has been a hub for home grown arts and culture throughout the decades.

Just south of Queen, running east-west from Spadina to Portland, Rush Lane is a hidden gem within the neighbourhood.

Over the past few weeks we have been working closely with the Wellington Place Neighbourhood Association, the Garment District Neighbourhood Association, the Queen West BIA, as well as a bunch of enthusiastic residents, to re-imagine our relationship to what is already so much more than just your average alleyway. The result is our multi-faceted activation: The Layers of Rush Lane.

We have planned an afternoon full of live music, art, activities and walking tours, through which we will explore some of the influences, past, present and future, which have contributed to making Queen West what it is today. Come join us this Saturday, June 4th, from 12:00 to 4:00, and explore the Layers of Rush Lane!
