Virtual Public Meeting - 125R Mill Street Development Application
Date: November 2, 2020
Time: 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm
This proposal seeks to amend the Official Plan and Zoning By-law to permit two towers of 32 and 45 storeys (119 and 163 m.) on a shared 6 storey base building consisting of: 24,353 sq.m. of office use; 311 sq.m. of retail use; and 54,455 sq.m. of residential use resulting in 661 dwelling units, of which 198 are affordable; and 124 parking spaces in an underground garage. A privately owned publicly accessible open space (POPS) in the form of a pedestrian passageway is also proposed connecting Cherry Street to the future local road to the east.
Update - Provincial Orders Affecting this Application
Late on Friday, October 23rd, we learned that the Government of Ontario issued a series of Minister's Zoning Orders (MZOs) affecting three sites in the West Don Lands: 373 Front Street East and 90 Mill Street (Blocks 3, 4 and 7), 125 and 125R Mill Street (Block 20) and 153 to 185 Eastern Avenue (Blocks 17 and 26). These MZOs were issued without notification to City Planning or the local Councillors, and were discovered by chance by a member of City Planning.
The previously-scheduled community consultation meeting for the application at 125R Mill Street will go ahead as planned on Monday, November 2nd. Please join me and City Planning staff to learn more about the Province's MZO and discuss next steps together. Click here to read my full statement with Councillor Wong-Tam on the surprise MZOs.
